[KYHAM] Advisory Regarding Mail Supposedly from Me!

This morning I started getting a bunch... and I mean a BUNCH of
kick-backs of messages allegedly coming from my computer to
people I have never heard of before. Most had the From address
of [email protected] with the capital "K". I use all lower case.

They were all "returned" as virus infested files were attached,
mostly pif's and a few scr.exe's. From the best I can tell, the
virus that has infected the state's mailservers this week is now
sending out messages to anyone who is in the state address book
files USING THE ADDRESSES of others in the state address book
files. While I am not sure how many of you have your info in the
state mail system address files, I wanted to post this alert.

To be on the safe side I have tested my system with my current,
updated McAfee Internet Security Anti-virus and also their
on-line diagnostics as a second check and this computer is
clean. Also I know they did not come from here because all
messages were sent when this computer was not even on-line. I
use a dial up modem here. If the computer put itself on line, it
would mess up my home phone line.

Anyone getting mail alledgedly from me with attachments of any
kind over the next two weeks or so without my warning you in an
advance plain text message that an attachment is coming on
another one later, DELETE withoutt even opening the message. It
IS NOT FROM ME. You also may receive these from Lord knows who
else so beware of pif and exe attachments from anyone!
