Occasionally, I post these to KYHAM as a reminder to new and old members
alike. They can be obtained at any time from the listserv user page.

Take care, 73,
Pat, KD4PWL
KYHAM Admin

You are free to use this independent listserv to discuss any amateur radio
topic in general, and those that relate to KY in particular. Use KYHAM to
announce your nets, club meetings, group activities, or any other
amateur radio organization news. Please spread the word! The more
participants we have making announcements, and holding discussions the
better informed we all can be.

Policies:
This listserv is thoughtfully managed, and there are some basic rules
of decorum to ensure that it remains a respected resource that
provides good information to amateur radio operators in Kentucky.
These rules are common courtesy, so they are not too difficult to
follow. Adherence to these policies is your responsibility. If there
is something you would like a little clarification on, don't hesitate
to contact Pat Spencer, KD4PWL at [email protected].

What if a rule is broken? I have been asked this question several
times. I contact the person via private email, and try to resolve the
problem by helping them understand why what they did was
counter-productive. We are all here for the same reason, so 99.9% of
the time, that is all that is needed. If this is unsuccessful,
depending on the severity of the problem, the user will be removed
from KYHAM, and/or all listservs hosted by QTH.NET.

Rules of Decorum:

No SPAM, junk mail, forwarded letters from other people about topics
that have nothing to do with amateur radio. This includes virus
warnings, pleas for action, and/or other scams. Nobody subscribes to
KYHAM to see that.

Respect the opinions of those posting. We will respect yours too. No
flames, fights, or otherwise negative behavior will be permitted. Feel
free to disagree with someone's opinion and debate the issue, but do
not attack the person holding the opinion.

Do not repost private email to the listserv that was sent to you
without first obtaining the permission of the author of that private
email.

Let the administrator do his job. If someone does something against
the rules, please do not compound the problem by calling attention, or
"fussing" at the other user. I will handle all problems quickly and
privately. Not following this rule will entitle you to a personal
conversation with the list admin as well. <grin>

You may post personal equipment for buy/sell/trade, and you may post
the results of your local trader's net to the listserv. No dealer or
commercial advertisements are permitted, however. They will be
considered as SPAM.

All parts of the QSL/QTH.NET Spam policy, and Acceptable Use Policy
apply. These can be found at http://www.qsl.net/spampolicy.html, and
at http://www.qsl.net/aup.html respectively.

Technical Information: When posting to KYHAM all HTML encoding is
stripped out of messages, as are file attachments. This is done
through a script that takes out this data, and simply places the text
of message back in the email. There is a chance, however slight that
errors may occur, and legitimate characters will be stripped out of
the message. So it is best to send all messages to KYHAM in plain-text
format to totally eliminate any chance of errors occurring on your
messages.
