I, THOMAS L. LYKINS, SILENT KEY ADMINISTRATOR FOR THE KENTUCKY SECTION
WOULD LIKE TO PUBLICALLY APOLOGIZE TO DAVID WHITE, W4UVH FOR
INADVERTANTLY LISTING HIS NAME IN THE SILENT KEY COLUMN. ALTHOUGH HIS
FATHER BOB, HELD THE CALLSIGN, DAVID APPLIED FOR IT AFTER HIS DEATH.
THE FOLLOWING WAS RECEIVED BY NB4K, THE KENTUCKY SECTION MANAGER WHICH
CAN HELP CLEAR UP THE ERROR FROM MR. WHITE. ONCE AGAIN, MR. WHITE,
PLEASE EXCEPT MY PERSONAL APOLOGY.
TOM LYKINS K4LID
SKL ADMINISTRATOR KENTUCKY.
Hi, John.

Like Mark Twain, I am pleased to report that reports of my death
are premature!

I noticed that I am listed on the ARRL Section website as a "Silent
Key for
April" (David White W4UVH). I'm pleased to report that I am, in
fact, alive and
well, but I believe I can explain the mix-up.

My father, Bob L. White, passed away on November 11, 2001. At the
time of his
death, he held the callsign W4UVH. At the urging of my mother, I
had his
license cancelled, and applied for the callsign under the vanity
program, as
close relative of former holder. I was issued the callsign on April
9, 2002.

So, the current W4UVH (that would be me) is alive and well. The
former holder,
my father, is in fact a Silent Key whose callsign I'm proud to
have.

I would appreciate it if a brief correction could be noted, in case
any of my
ham friends who I haven't talked to recently see the item and
assume the worst!
Although I didn't report it as I probably should have, it might
also be nice to
note that Bob L. White, W4UVH did, in fact, become a Silent Key in
November.

Thanks, and vy 73,

David White (W4UVH)
