I have the Kenwood TH-D72 and it is a excellent handheld.  I got mine from AES (if your order is $100 or more their is free shipping!).  Being in Milwaukee, WI, they do not collect sales tax as it is shipped out of state.  I also bought one for Bernie (my XYL).  It is easy to program and has GPS and APRS built in - no wires and extra components.  Their is a software program available from rt systems that allows you to enter all the repeaters and simplex frequencies as well as menu parameters using a p/c.  The data can be saved on the p/c in case you have reprogram the ht.  This is also available from AES.

If you have any questions, give me a call.

Subject: [KokomoHams] Dual Band Portables

Hi All,

I'm looking for some advice on good dual band HT's (with or without
APRS), any suggestions? I recently got an insurance settlement for
some stolen radios and now have to procure some replacements (policy
was replacement value so I replace and get reimbursed).

Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks,
Jim
