[KL7AA] Winter Events

Hello group,

Now that we're past thanksgiving I wanted to put the word out about two 
good events coming up in January: Winter Field Day 
(https://www.winterfieldday.com), and the January ARRL VHF Contest.

For the January VHF contest I'm planning to operate as a rover again, 
although this time I'll probably operate over two days. Saturday I'll 
likely do my usual route through the Anchorage bowl, and then Sunday 
I'll go somewhere else (maybe down to Kenai).

Winter field day isn't as big as the ARRL (summer) Field Day, but it's 
growing fast. I haven't finalized my plans yet, but I'll likely be 
operating outdoors somewhere and could always use more contacts. If 
anyone can recommend a good campground that is open in the winter I 
would appreciate it.

If you're interested in joining in then now is the time to start 
thinking about antennas and other gear. Don't wait until January!
