Careful Dan. You admitted the main issue (your #2) that CW operators
take offense at: 

"I probably would have learned Morse code years ago, if it would have
been presented to me as an enjoyable hobby, say like horseback riding or
archery. 

But NO, you had to make it punitive, like forcing people to prove their
proficiency in horsemanship to get a drivers license, or to prove their
proficiency with a bow and arrow to get a hunting license to hunt with a
rifle."

It was your groups egotistical zealotry that insisted on a no code form
of amateur radio (like your grandkid's FRS) and to which the old timer's
caved. Now you admit freely it was not an inability on your part to
learn a time honored part of amateur radio but an insistence on them
accepting your rules. Given your religious overtone, I wonder if your
religious organization would support your belief that they MUST allow
EVERYONE in AND to accomplish that they must change their oldest and
most personal doctrines.
