WOW --- Holy CoW, "apples and oranges"
I forgot that a bunch of religious zealots couldnt take a joke about their
Holy CoW and thats all it was, nothing more and nothing less, a joke. I was
only joking about the "apples and oranges". Dont you believe that it was a
joke to even remotely compare two seasoned CW Ham contesters to a couple of
kids sending text messages between cell phones? You have clearly made two
points I hadnt even thought about.
****#1****
Most Morse code lovers are a form of religious zealots, and worship it as a
holy Right of Passage. Therefore, NO one dare question its worth or joke
about it, thats taboo!
****#2****
Most old farts that were hazed, when they were younger, will insist on hazing
anyone else that dare want to participate in the activity that they had to
endure hazing for.
I guess you forgot that it was the NO CODE Tech Amateur Radio License that
saved Amateur Radio from extinction. All of you Morse code religious zealots
and hazing fanatics will NEVER be able to shove Morse code down MY throat,
period.
I probably would have learned Morse code years ago, if it would have been
presented to me as an enjoyable hobby, say like horseback riding or archery.
But NO, you had to make it punitive, like forcing people to prove their
proficiency in horsemanship to get a drivers license, or to prove their
proficiency with a bow and arrow to get a hunting license to hunt with a rifle.
After all, your car or truck might die and your rifle might run out of
ammunition, and---and if you cant ride a horse or shoot an arrow from a bow,
you might die.
Lighten up a little folks, make it fun. Heck, I might even get a QRP kit and
learn Morse code, if you quit acting like bullies and trying to shove Morse
code down our throats.
73 & Thanks for making my day,
Dan OBarr, KL7DR :)
