Hello All >>>

I wanted to advise everyone of an even better deal (another $50 off) as of
Sunday, October 3rd, if you are looking for a lightweight subnotebook suitable
for basic computing while on the road.

Fred Meyer is offering the Averatec 3250 on sale from now through at least
next weekend. They've sweetened the deal with a certificate for a $50 Fred
Meyer gift card (spend it on anything) effective immediately. This is in
addition to the two reductions mentioned below. The laptop has the following
features:

     12" TFD screen
     AMD XP-M 2200+ mobile low-drain processor
Built-in DVD and CD-RW combination drive
     802.11G wireless capability
     Three USB 2.0 ports
     512MB DDR RAM
     60GB hard drive
     Weight 3.4 pounds
     Built-in modem (RJ-11)
     Built-in network connection (RJ-45)
Top-rated by PC World this summer

The price after a $100 mail-in rebate is $879, but they are honoring a
price match against OfficeMax that knocks off another $30, bringing the final
price down to $849. (The OfficeMax version is a slightly less capable version
of the same computer.) Most Fred Meyer stores that I checked have restocked
since my last message on this subject. The final price with the value of the
$50 gift certificate deducted is $799.

                                                     Good luck,

                                                     Craig

P.S. The matching padded carry case is on sale for $12.99 as well.
