[KL7AA] October ARES District 7 Events

The monthly ARES meeting for October will be *Saturday October 9, 
0930-1200* at the Anchorage Emergency Operations Center, 1309 E St. We 
will be trained in the WebEOC software currently in use at AEOC and get 
a general orientation to AEOC operations.

I encourage all ARES members to attend this session. While it is not on 
our usual third Saturday (more on that below) it is essential that as 
many ARES folks as possible attend. The software is not complex, but 
training is essential as you may wind up the person on point and be 
required to help others in the event of an emergency.

Our usual meeting day, Saturday October 16, will be devoted to the 
Jamboree on the Air, a scouting event tentatively planned for the 
National Guard Armory at Ft. Rich. We'll not only be getting Scouts on 
the air, but testing both AARC beam antennae, som we could use your 
help. More as it develops...
