[Kenwood] My first post -- filter question.

Eric,

First of all, filters for your TS830 are still available 
from:  https://www.inrad.net/home.php?cat=55

It's still a great radio, especially if you also have the matching 
(digital) VFO230.

I equipped mine with a pair of 250hz filters from the predecessor of 
the above company, shortly after I bought the 830, many years ago. As 
someone with 'cloth ears' I needed all the help I could get.

I wouldn't disagree with Clif about using the high frequency filter 
if you're only going to install one. I run Eudora, a very 
old-fashioned e-mail client, simply because nothing else comes close 
to meeting my needs. It displays roughly 40 of the most recent 
messages to this reflector that I have chosen to save because they 
are of interest. It's worthy of note that 32 of these are from Clif, 
whose contributions I greatly appreciate.
