[Kenwood] TS-440S tuning knob binding

Thanks so much for the response. Unfortunately, your answer makes sense 
to me; I think you are correct. I will do as you suggest, and I sure 
hope I'm "lucky."

Could you tell me what type/size of wrench is needed to remove the set 
screw on the knob? I assume it's either an allen head or bristol 
(probably the former, and metric), but knowing is always better than 
assuming.
