[Kenwood] TS850/TS950 and TS450 autotuner question

I believe the TS850, TS950 and TS450 use pretty much the same autotuner, so
hopefully this question will cover both.  The manual says that the
autotuner will store settings for each band, so in practice, if I was to
switch between the FT8 frequencies on each band remotely, the autotuner
will quickly set itself for that band and have a low SWR, correct?

Or do you need to push the tune button each time you change bands to really
make the tuner work?

Also, what CAT programs are good for computer control of the TS850, TS950
and TS450?
