[Kenwood] TS-930S Question

I just "inherited" a Kenwood TS-930S which seems to work just fine.
Someone replaced the meter lamps with blue LEDs which is a nice touch.

However there is a cable that has been added that hangs out the back of
the radio. It has a DB9 connector and three wires are connected.
Presumably this is an aftermarket RS-232 connection? The wire runs
underneath the speaker and I have not taken the radio apart to see where
it is connected.

Just wondered if anyone on the list had seen this and might have a clue
as to what it is? There was no documentation with the radio other than
a copy of the manual, so I have no idea what modifications may have been
made to it.

Thanks,

Rick, KN3C
