[Kenwood] TS 2000 with no 40 meters

I turned my TS 2000 on today and it appears to be alive on all HF bands except 40 meters. Receiver noise only on 40 meters, no signals being received. Receiving signals on 160, 80, 10 mhz, 20 thru 10 meters. Is there a way that 40 meters can be deactivated on 40 meters?
This is my backup rig and I seldom use it so I am not sure that something is not disengaged fo4 40 meters. Your input appreciated 73, John, K5PGW.
