[Kenwood] ALC of TS 2000 on PSK

I am about to begin working PSK31 with my TS 2000, Signal link and Lap top. I have been warned about trying to transmit PSK with the transceiver showing ALC. My question is about your experience with the TS 2000 and ALC. How much power must one run with the TS 2000 and not get into the ALC range?  What power do you usually run on PSK with your TS 2000? What is your recommendation regarding power with the TS 2000 and ALC  based on your actual experience? Thanks and 73, John, K5PGW
