Also, I would run it for a while (a few days, at least) with the Mode 
switch set to CW rather than SSB.  That puts around 2100 volts on the 
plates instead of around 3200 volts.  You'll still get around 800 
watts PEP out and a trapezoid pattern looks perfectly linear.

AVVid (Clif Holland) in Mabank TX does Kenwood repair including the 
TL-922A.  I don't know of anyone any closer to you than 
that.  However his website states he won't accept any "large" radios 
that aren't in their original boxes with original packing 
material.  Not sure what those of us are supposed to do whose 
original boxes have long ago been lost to the sands of time... fix 
the radios ourselves, I guess :-).
