I believe the 'buzzer' is the beep sound associated with key presses.

'VR-1' is 'variable resistor' (trimpot) and is described in the service manual alignment 
procedure(s).  It is on  the AVR board and happens to adjust the 28.5 VDC regulated voltage to 
the PA.
