That was the solution Brian. Thank you very much. I knew De-oxit in the 
correct SPOT would help from the beginning. Removing the door is the 
access point I needed. The digital read out started to work this morning 
although still in/out. Sprayed contacts etc. It still was erratic so 
what I did was to turn vfo dial to where it cut out and rotate back and 
forth a lot until read out came back. Did this up/down the band and now 
100%. Next we test transmit.
