[Kenwood] Fw: TS-850 Audible Whine

FWIW, I modified both of my TS-850S radios to have the fans run continuously. The thermsistor or something in the associated circuitry in one radio failed and the fan did not run at all even when the radio got warm. Not a good situation when contesting!

I rewired the fan to run off of a 7808 three terminal regulator (8.0V). I don't hardly hear the fan and the radio always stays cool. I liked the mod so much that I also installed it in the radio that didn't have the problem.
