Well Joe, you will have to make sure that the carrier oscillators (usb & 
lsb)are on frequency but that requires good test equipment which you may or 
may not have. The other thing that is possible is that the ssb crystal 
filter may not be symmetrical which will create a similar effect. So if you 
have either a service monitor or a good frequency counter that will give you 
10 hz resolution, you could check both the usb and lsb oscillators and see 
if they are in the ball park.
