[Kenwood] TS-820S Compressor issues

My TS-820S came up with a new one this evening: feedback when the speech-compressor is 
on and the levels set to where they were working some time back.

I haven't been on SSB for a while.

This problem just popped up.

With the levels set as they have worked in the past, now, when I key the mic, I get feedback. 
I can even hear it coming out of the speaker. I have the monitor switch off.

With the speech-processor off, everything is normal.

Any ideas from the group? I thought I would ask here before I dug into it.
