Hi Danny.....

The 7 3 is a carry over from CW (Morse Code) days when telegraphers would 
end their conversations (QSO's) with 7 3, meaning Best Wishes or Regards or 
some other salutation.
When sent in Morse, it has a nice rhythmic sound to it (da dah di di dit  di 
di di dah dah). One should never add an ess (S) to it, as many seem to do 
nowadays.
