I had the same issue with my TS 2000; the RS232 chipset needed to be replaced in the radio. AES fixed me up quickly. 73 de AB9OP Marc Jens

Subject: [Kenwood] Problem with 9 pin socket

I had an electrical spike earlier this summer and my puter will no
onger read the frequency information from my radio. I have been
sing Ham Radio Deluxe and all aspects were working fine. Now, the
rogram will not read the frequency. I borrowed a friends radio and
is works fine so I know that it's a problem in the 9 pin connector
f the radio.
If anyone out there has had this type of problem I'd certainly like
o know how you fixed it and the overall procedure.
Thanks, Len. kd8cwp
