[Kenwood] kenwood 850 question

I have been looking for my specific problem everywhere but it has not been  
addressed. My frequency display is total gibberish which changes as you 
turn  the V.F.O. to different gibberish. It looks like hyrogliphics. I have  
replaced the capacitors on the display board and it did not work. When the  
problem is discussed on the different web sites there is reference to a dead  
display, or an intermittent display, but not a display of complete 
hyrogliphics  gibberish. Can someone help??
