[Kenwood] TS-850 Auto Tuner

I would like to thank everyone who responded to my problem, turned out it
was the CAR adjustment. I don't have the 850 set up for CW and didn't notice
that the control was set to 0...set it back to 5 and low and behold the
tuner works. My next project is to replace ALL the time bomb caps, some of
which have made the PC traces disappear, but I still love the radio. Many

Hello,

 

I hope someone out there can help.I purchased a TS-850 about I year ago
used, among the various problems the auto tuner will no longer tune.
Engaging the AT Tune starts the motors but the meter will not drop below
infinity and after a few second the out of range tone is heard. This happens
on any antenna I have tried and on all bands. Any insight as where to start
looking will be greatly appreciated.
