Hi Peter

I am unfamiliar with your software, but sometimes demo software does not
give you all the functions, although sometimes it does. I have used rig
control for the last 12 years with 850's I've owned using different contest
logging software and general logging software. The parameters that have
worked are:

Comport: x (whatever comport you are using. I would try RS 232 over usb if
that's possible)
Baud Rate: 4800
Data Bits: 8
Stop Bits 2
Parity: None

You may need to check your bios and see if the comports are turned on. Here
are some of the programs that are free now that I have had working over the
years. My interface BTW, is a 3rd party one from W1GEE that has always
worked well. At $40, it was much more affordable then the Kenwood IF-232.

CT or CTwin now that I am using Windows XP. Log-EQF demo, TRlog (not free),
WriteLog (not free), N1MM Contest logger (free) and TR4W beta (Windows
contest logger similar to TRlog).

GL Peter and keep us posted.

73, Mike K9MI
