[Kenwood] Interface connectio

The Kenwood CAT interface from ZLP Electronics in the UK is said to do verything the original Kenwood IF-232 does, but it does not connect my TS850 and TS950SDX to any of my two personal computers, neither on the USB nor on the RS232 comport. I am using the nGenLog DEMO log programme and have carefully followed the instructions. So what do I do wrong?
