[Kenwood] TS-930S memory battery

In all the years I have had this rig, I never put a battery in for 
memory backup. I opened the sliding door in the top of the VOX hole 
and could find no way to remove the battery box cover. How in the 
world do you get that box open?

On the same subject, has there ever been a mod to use a different type 
battery?
