[Kenwood] Kenwood 940s

I am posting for a friend. He has a TS 940s that has lost 40 and 20 M band.No noise, just silence until you turn the vfo out of band. Like 13999 has static, then roll to 14000 and she is dead. Any ideas? The other bands 10-15-80-160 are fine.
