[Kenwood] TS-430S Question

Hi Guys:

My old rig has intermittently stopped sending out a signal, at least 
that is the rough definition. Same thng on all bands and CW or SSB.

My friend and I think the T-R relay is dirty.

I have the Filter board out and the relay is accessible.

Is it necessary to replace it, or can I clean the contacts?  In cleaning 
the contacts, I need to remove the clear plastic "box" sitting upside 
down over the relay, but securely glued to the lower plastic base.  All 
I need is small access to the contacts.  Was thinking of cutting part 
off for the access.  Any ideas?
