I’d like to add another wish list item, but it would be for the next generation of the TMD-700/710 line.

 

Two USB ports, one for programming (yes, I realize what would be involved for a computer interface, drivers etc.) the other for a GPS input.  If the programming USB port also carried audio, that would be gravy for IRLP/EchoLink etc interfacing.

 

I base this wish on the lack of serial ports on current GPS lines (they’re there, but the number is diminishing and in a few more years may not exist [not arguing James, we’ve covered it before ;-)] ) and it would also solve the software sensitivity to USB<->Serial dongles.  

 

Yes, I’d expect the cost to go up, but the convenience factor would make the feature desirable and worth another $50‑ish.
