Hello everybody - I'd appreciate some help with a component substitution issue I'm having with my T-599D transmitter.

I need to replace the predriver (Q1) a 3SK22 in my T-599D transmitter. I have a new NTE222 to use.

As I compare datasheets for the 3SK22 and the NTE222 it appears that the DRAIN and GATE #1 are in the same lead position in both BUT the SOURCE and GATE #2 leads need to be "criss-crossed" (and insulated from each other) before plugging in the NTE222 into Q1's socket.

I'd greatly appreciate some verification that the NTE222 is an acceptable substitute AND that the criss-crossing of S and G2 leads is correct.

Thanks & 73, Bill, w0ng, Colorado Springs.
