The concensus on TS-2000 reflectors is that the internal TNC, which was 
designed for Sky Command and Packet Cluster Tune, is not adequate for heavy 
packet like Airmail.  It does not have a buffer like a real TNC does. 
You'll need an external TNC.

The TNC in the TS-2000 suffers from a ZERO sized buffer with NO handshaking.
Even with the use of a software bridge, like AGWPE, this limitation can not
be overcome for Airmail. The WL2K/Airmail system uses advanced compression
that operates in binary mode. The data throughput is just too fast for the
TS-2000's TNC to keep up.

I am using Airmail and it operates fine using the Telnet (internet) to check
mail. I am trying to operate Airmail via HF. I am new at this so I might not
fully understand how this all works but here is what I have.

I have a TS2000 that has a built in TNC. I have my laptop computer connected
to TS2000 using the serial port. I don’t have any other equipment connected,
except auto tuner.

The Airmail instructions refer to an external TNC. I don’t know what the
Modem (TNC) connection or the Radio Connection (optional) should be set at.
The Modem (TNC) connection does not have an option for built in TNC so I
don’t know which one to choose.

Do I need to purchase another piece of equipment or can my TS2000 operate
Airmail on HF with what I have so far?
