The SM-220 has selectable sweep widths of ±20 and
±100KHz.  The bandwidth of the IF filter makes no
difference, since you don't tap into the IF downstream
from the filter.  The best place is at the output of
the mixer (or input to the IF chain).  To prevent
loading the mixer, you'll want to present it with a
high impedance.  In the case of my TS-120S/-130S rigs,
I built a deadbug buffer amplifier w/ an input
impedance of about 2K, and tapped into the LO-Z point
at the input to the IF board.
