[Kenwood] Kenwood SM-220 woes

Sounds similar to my TS-940 purchase from a local ham.  Radio went deaf
after 4 hours of listening time about 3 days after I got it home.  The
seller's response when I finally got an email back from him was "I wish you
the best in getting your problem resolved".

With some input and a few pep talks from Clif Holland, I have it working,
but man it was frustrating.
