[Kenwood] Kenwood SM-220 woes

Well,

The saga continues.  I sent a complaint to Paypal.  I paid $339.00 for this equipment.  It had the broken coupling links and a broken housing on the back side of the front panel that holds the crt in place.

The seller Radio-Bazar, Jim Isbell Callsign KB4U in Decatur, GA is claiming that I took out the parts in question and replaced them with bad parts and submitting a false claims.

This guy is an amateur radio extra class and I'm really disappointed that somone with an amateur extra license is making these false claims, calling me a liar, etc.

How on earth do these guys get a license and then sell to individuals.  He knew about the issues I have been talking about.  If he didn't have an advanced ticket and was someone who had no experience, I could believe an honest mistake but not someone like this.  Photos were taken with the top enclosure removed and taken at such an angle that these issues never showed up.  I took the man for his word.  My stupid mistake for not asking for any questions, etc. 

 I tried to tell him that anyone who won this auction would be doing the exact same thing I'm doing.  Paying $339.00 dollars for a piece of equipment that is partially broken is terrible.  I'm not rich and I'm trying to put my shack together on a budget.  I have to sell what other equipment I own in order to afford things like this.  When things like this happen, I'm upset because I had to give something else I owned up in order to upgrade.  It seems that I really lost out.  

I guess I should be thankful that I have the parts that I need on order.  But that is an additional $85.08 cents that I wasn't planning on spending on what I already consider an expensive piece of equipment.

I don't know about you guys but, I think if you selling something you should be honest about it's condition and disclose those things you know.

O.K. excuse the bandwidth, I'll get off my fell sorry for me stand and move on.  Lesson learned.  You can't trust anyone, even if they have an amateur extra license.
