[Kenwood] TS830 and remote VFO question

WIll a VFO-820 external VFO (originally made for the
TS820) also work with the TS830?  Can you just hook it
up to the rig, or is there extra interfacing that is
required.  I realize you won't get the WARC bands with
it, but will it work ok on the other bands?
