[Kenwood] TS830S tuning rate question

John,

I share your feelings about the tuning rate on the TS-830S - the only
negative "feature" of the radio.

But, while I do not use my TS-830S very often - when I do I find that I
become used to the tuning rate after a while and it becomes second nature.
To me, the overall positives of the design and features of the radio are
worth that one shortcoming.

Several have noted positive results in reducing the tuning rate on the
accessory, digital VFO-230 External VFO. I have not tried that with mine -
but if you can find a VFO-230 and can make the modification it may help you
with the concern. The VFO-230's, however, are a bit hard to locate.

Don't let a good TS-830S get away from you if you like the hybrid radios!

73,

-Bill, WA9MXQ
