[Kenwood] TS-940 birdies

Hello,

My Kenwood TS-940SAT went in for repair. When it returned, it seemed to work well except for one annoying problem. Although I can live with it, it bugs the heck out of me. The problem is that my 940 has an S-9+ birdie every 100 kHz, regardless of band tuned!

I don't know what repairs were actually done. I do know that I paid for a new synthesizer board and an alignment!

Is there something I can do to reduce this birdie problem without making things worse? Although I have nearly fifty years experience with vacuum tube technology, the TS-940 scares the tar out of me!

BTW: I don't want to return the transceiver back to the repairman in Florida who did the repairs!

Thanks for your assistance,

Tom, K8JRM Oklahoma City
