Ok, got many replies, most admonishing me for the excess power. So 
sorry, I should have known that something was wrong when I reported 
that test. I did the mods myself and if I had thought about it I would 
have realized something was awry. Turns out that the old Heathkit 
HM-102 was way out of adjustment. When I retested with the Daiwa it 
showed 115W. That's more like it!

Sorry for the confusion. Thanks for the  heads up. Any comments on the 
tuner noise and lubrication, as well as the question on exercising the 
tuner once in a while without RF if possible?
