[Kenwood] Re: 940S intermittant problem

I'm wondering if any 940S owners have experienced this and can lead me in the right direction as to what may be the problem

The freq. display on my 940 goes blank, just dots at the bottom, and the receiver goes dead.  When I move the dial, the frequency display comes back momentarily, then goes blank again.  The receiver stays dead the whole time. Also, transmit is dead.  PRessing the reset switch behind the subdial, does not help.

After a period of power off, it comes back completely normal.  Suspecting "heat", I left it on for an extended period when it was "working" and it kept working fine.

So, it's completely intermittent at present, but tending to not work more than work lately.

I've had it to Kenwood in California  (twice)for a different issue not that long ago.  Cost me an arm and both legs... certainly not sending it back there again.
