[Kenwood] TS-850S and CW Keying using a Computer's Serial Port

I did a really simple mod shown at
http://www.zievid.com/W6OT/TS-850/TS-850.htm that brings a line out from
the internal keyer circuit to pin 1 of the ACC jack on the back. Click on
"CW Keying" on the left menu bar.
An external transistor is used to switch the signal from the computer in a
project box. This box servers as the connection between all the ACC jack
signals and stuff I want to connect to the rig (like the audio in/out for
digital modes)
Thus the computer serial port goes to the box, the box into the rig to
switch CW, and the internal keyer is still usable with a paddle.
Hope this helps,
- Dave
