[Kenwood] Another filter question/problem

I just installed a Kenwood YK88C-1 filter in my TS690
in time for the November SS (thanks to Associated
Radio for sending it priority mail so I could have it
by contest time).  However, when I put the filter in
line I have to turn the IF shift completely to the
right to put it on the right receive frequency.  It is
fine with the filter out of line, where the IF shift
is centerd, as it is supposed to be.  Also, with the
filter in line I was hearing some loud stations on the
other side of the zero beat.

This is a used filter, so I have no idea as to its
history, but anyone have an idea as to what is going
on?  Is it the filter or the rig that is out of
alignment here?  

Guess it isn't my week for CW filters.
