[Kenwood] TS 2000 Problem ?

Nik, do you have a watt meter and dummy load available? Make sure the tuner 
is OFF, and transmt into the dummy load. I would transmit a cw signal into 
the dummy load so you could easily read the output. If the antenna is 1:1, 
you really don't need the autotuner anyway either.

I don't really know this radio, but with this simple test you would at least 
know if the transmitter is working ok. If swr gets high enough (2:1 isn't 
too bad) to test the built in tuner again, then turn the tuner on again and 
see what it does. If it won't match a 2:1, then something probably is wrong 
with the tuner. I bought a new 570 years ago, and it came with a warning to 
not try and use the autotuner with an SWR of over 3:1.
