Hi,
I am new to the list. I have a KW TM-V7 installed in my car for a few years, and finally decided to program the memories for a few more repeaters, attempt to use the full radio, etc.
I bought the PG-4S cable, and a 9 to 25 pin convertor, downloaded M7110.exe and extracted Mcp_v7.exe. I loaded up a bunch of channels (maybe 20) with data, went out to the car, connected the cable to the only connector I could find (left of the place where the head sits).
I have not been able to gain communication with the radio. I am currently set for comm2 on an old W95 laptop, and get something like incorrect radio as an error?
I had previously tried my XP laptop, but that seems to generate a conflict on comm2 when trying to map that to a usb to serial convertor to map to comm 2.
Sooo, Thought I would ask to see if anyone has experience with this, before I really dig in and look for a break out box, etc. Am I missing something simple here?
Oh yea.., the radio is "buried" inside the car pretty darn hard to get at without some major tools, and car parts disassembly. I can access the front and back panels.
