[Kenwood] TS-850 and Heil pro set w/ HC-5

New to the Heil mic so hopefully this don't sound like a dumb question.

Does Heil make a headset specially made for the TS-850?

I got a new Heil here and the Kenwood adapter and I noticed on some pics on
the internet and the box it came in, that one plug is small and the other is
big.

On mine both plugs, for transmit and receive audio, are both small.
Plus on top of that, when I plug the jack into the radio I can't transmit
with the headset, BUT if I unplug it from the headset from the radio, then I
can!

If that makes sense...what am I missing, or do I have a defective headset??

Can someone tell me more than I know.
