[Kenwood] Kenwood TS-790A free-spin VFO mode?

It has been some time since I last used my TS-790A.  I
remember there being a free-spin VFO mode in SSB and a
detent mode in FM.  I cannot remember how to turn on
the free-spin VFO mode while in SSB.  I do not like
the detent tuning while in SSB and I am sure I would
not like the free-spin mode in FM.  Any ideas?  I did
not see it in the manual but I may have missed it.
