[Kenwood] TX problems in Sub band

Any body have an idea how I can get my new TS 2000 to transmit on the sub 
band when going through the rear of the radio? I am running a Heil Goldline 
pro to a DBX 286a into the back of the 2000 and when I switch to the sub 
band it will not key the TX in the sub band. The PTT defaults back to the 
main band.
