Thanks to all who posted on replacement batteries for my TH-79A, probably will get an alkaline dry cell pack and use rechargeable Nimh batteries in it. Have looked at a lot of different options as a result of your postings, found some good prices at ragebatteries and batterydepot.  Read eham reviews and not sure of quality of their products though.
