[Kenwood] Installing Piexx Board in TS-930

Barry,

Be very careful. I did not install the PIEXX board in my TS-930S/AT (now
gone from my shack) but I did remove that board plenty of times to "fix" it!
I recall that the connectors were very hard to remove the first time. I used
a very fine point, long snout needle nose pliers to do the job - I gripped
with the pliers and also pulled with my fingers grasping the connector body
as well. What I cannot remember is if those particular Kenwood connectors
had some sort of a mechanical lock on them that needed to be released. 

Carefully observe the construction of the connectors to be sure how they may
lock together. I have found on different build serial numbers on the same
Kenwood model that connectors are sometime slightly different. I have seen
that on the TS-830S and TS-530S.

I hear many good things about the PIEXX update to that fine radio.

I'm trying to install a Piexx board in my TS-930.  The steps are relatively
straightforward but I'm having trouble disconnecting the 16 white cable
plugs around the perimeter of the old microprocessor board.  According to
the instructions, the plugs should be disconnected while the board is still
mounted in place.  However, it is very difficult to grip the plugs and
pull/pry them out.  Any suggestions?  I would like to avoid damaging the old
board in case I want to reinstall it at some point.
